Home Staging Results in Quick Offer to Buy

On August 31st, I was called by a realtor to stage a home in Jacksonville Golf and Country Club.  She usually stages her own properties but this home was a challenge. Thankfully, this realtor realized she needed some professional home staging  to  sell this home quickly.

As I entered the house, I noticed a beautiful home cluttered with accessories.  The realtor tagged the items I requested be removed before I could come in and do any staging.  We recommended that the homeowner rent a pod to store the excess inventory he had stashed all over the house!

Finally, on September 6th, the clutter was gone and I was able to stage this home hoping to get a quick offer to buy.  The listing became official on September 11th and on September 13th , I received an email informing me that they had three offers already.  The staging definitely helped  move the home quickly to a sale.

Before - Cluttered Dining Room

After - Buyers Can Realize The Spaciousness of the Dining Room

I can’t emphasize enough the value of home staging to receive a quick offer to buy.  That first impression is so critical.  Real estate pro , Barbara Corcoran, put a value on a buyer’s first impression at 5-7% of the home’s list price! According to the National Association of Realtors, 93% of buyers look online before even contacting a realtor. Photos of homes that are vacant or cluttered are not as appealing to buyers as homes that are decluttered and have nicely arranged furnishings. Think of the money this homeowner will be saving by not having to pay taxes, utilities, and maintenance fees on this home. It more than pays for the home staging.

Before - The Office Looks Overtaken by the Clutter

After - You Can See the Room

Before - Too Many Distractions in the Living Room

After - A Room Where You Can Relax

If you need to move on with your life by selling your home, contact a home stager to help you.  We are trained in furniture placement and how to look at your home as a home buyer.  Don’t try to do it yourself because you can’t be objective.  You don’t want your home lingering on the market.  The longer your home remains on the market, the lower the price goes. Home staging can result in a quick offer to buy.

Thanks for your comment. Home Staging does work. Just staged another one on 3/15/13 and it sold to the first couple who saw it on 3/16/13!
